Dane County Friends of Ferals is a group of dedicated volunteers committed to creating a better future for feral cats.
Our mission is to establish a no-kill standard and to promote the value and well-being of Dane County's feral cats. We are Dane County's primary resource for feral cat questions and assistance.
What is a feral cat?

Cat Spotlight: Fuzzy
I was living at an industrial park in Sun Prairie until I came to the shelter to start a new life. I am a very handsome and quiet kitty looking for a permanent indoor home. I am FIV positive, but since I won't be fighting and biting other cats, it is highly unlikely I will transfer the disease. Don't let FIV scare you...I can lead a long life as long as you keep me healthy. Learn more.
Looking to adopt your new best friend? Search the cats and kittens in our program. Visit our cats at our weekly adoption fairs.
We are desperately seeking new foster homes for kittens and cats. An unspayed cat can give birth up to 18 kittens each year and there is an influx in the spring. These kittens need to be placed into foster care until they are old enough to be adopted. All you need is one room to separate your foster cats from your own cats, time to spend with your foster cats and the desire to make a difference. Please contact our foster care coordinator if you can help.
Volunteers Needed!
- The Fundraising Committee is looking for new members. If you can't commit to a full year you can work on a project-by-project basis. Please email Kathleen at kmkbroker@aol.com if you are interested.
- The Program Coordinator position is currently vacant...do you want to help? Keep in mind coordinators must have volunteered with Friends of Ferals for at least one year.
- We need cleaners, medicators and socializers at the new shelter. Please email volunteer@daneferals.org if you can help.
For more information please email board@daneferals.org.
